Fallon Health and the Worcester Red Sox Announce New Details about Partnership

Worcester, Mass., March 16, 2021— Fallon Health, a community-based, not-for-profit health care services organization, and the Worcester Red Sox today announced new details surrounding their partnership. As an official founding partner of the team, Fallon’s presence will be multifaceted and will include a focus on the organizations’ shared commitment to the health and well-being of the region.

Fallon will be represented in the following ways:

  • Fallon Health Square- located at the corner of Plymouth and Summit streets, this location promises to be the premier entrance where most fans will be welcomed into the park. The entryway and ticket booth will incorporate Fallon branding and signage featuring the long-time Worcester company’s signature colors. Fallon is working closely with the WooSox on plans to develop fun, healthy activities and giveaways to add to the inviting nature of this prominent location throughout the season.
  • Fallon Family Funday Sundays- as title partner for Sunday home games, Fallon will help promote healthy behavior through sports at the ballpark on a weekly basis, schedule permitting. Family friendly activities may include activities such as playing catch in the outfield and running the bases after the game, as COVID-19 restrictions allow.
  • Strike Out Hunger- building on its commitment to fighting hunger in the diverse communities it serves, Fallon will sponsor a campaign that is focused on making sure there is equitable access to food. Every time a WooSox pitcher strikes out a member of the visiting ball club at Polar Park, Fallon will contribute $50 to the Worcester County Food bank with a guaranteed season commitment of $50,000.

“Fallon Health is proud to be one of the original founding partners of the Worcester Red Sox. Like many in the community, we are anxiously awaiting the start of the team’s inaugural season,” said Richard Burke, President and CEO of Fallon Health. “With more than 40 years of dedicated service to the Worcester community, we are proud to use this opportunity to support our mission of making our communities healthy. In particular, we are excited to work with the WooSox to promote the many health benefits of sports. Together, we can have a positive impact on people of all ages, health statuses and backgrounds.”

“Our relationship with Fallon Health has already been remarkable,” said WooSox President Dr. Charles A. Steinberg.  “The entrance that we look forward to, Fallon Health Square, is already part of our front office’s vocabulary. And the Fan Plan meeting on May 10, 2019, was exceptionally fruitful.

“At Fallon’s Fan Plan meeting, we heard suggestions that we are adopting that include Coney Island Hot Dogs, Table Talk Pies, year-round uses of the park, cool videoboards, a Summit Street Fair, live national anthems, drink rails, standing room, parking prices ranging from $5-15, larger ladies’ rooms, family restrooms, a berm, an area for dogs, a food app to not wait in line, and a low sensory zone for those with special needs. Fallon’s was among the most productive Fan Plan sessions of the 21 we had. We are grateful not only for their partnership, but for their enthusiastic participation in the creation of Polar Park.”

Since becoming the first corporate sponsor of the Club in September 2018, Fallon and the WooSox have fostered a strong relationship on and off the field. The WooSox attended an all-employee meeting for Fallon’s 1,200 employees, held a fan plan session with staff and participated in Fallon’s charity softball game with Worcester-area seniors.
