Fallon Health presents Community Impact Award to Michael McConville of West Boylston

Award recognizes Fallon’s ongoing commitment to volunteerism

Mike McConville with Richard Burke and David PrzesiekWorcester, Mass., February 4, 2020—Fallon Health, a mission-based, community-focused not-for-profit health care services organization, is proud to present its annual Community Impact Award to West Boylston resident Michael McConville, MassHealth Relationship Executive.

McConville was chosen among hundreds of volunteers at Fallon, who collectively logged thousands of hours of community service last year.

 “We’re fortunate to have many dedicated employees who strive to make a difference in the communities we serve,” said Richard Burke, President and CEO of Fallon Health. “Mike is a caring and inspirational volunteer. We appreciate his dedication to our mission of making our communities healthy and his contributions that support and improve the community.”

Fallon’s Community Impact Award recognizes excellence in one or more of the following ways:

  • Volunteering and contributing significantly to improving the quality of life for others through hands-on work 
  • Engaging volunteers in an innovative and creative style 
  • Exemplifying inspirational leadership and initiative through teaching, coaching, organizing, serving on boards and committees and/or other leadership roles within the community 
  • Acting courageously and performing in an outstanding manner in an emergency situation 
  • Demonstrating an overall extraordinary commitment to volunteering, creating a lasting impression on our community

McConville has participated in numerous Fallon initiatives, including assisting with race day activities at the Canal Diggers 5K, helping Worcester Public School students fill out college applications and umpiring the organization’s first ever charity softball game. Having served in the Air Force and Air National Guard himself, McConville also gives back to various veteran’s organizations and leads Fallon’s annual Veterans Day employee luncheon.

He also finds time to volunteer for the Dudley-Charlton School District, The Town of Charlton, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Tradewinds Clubhouse and he sits on the Worcester Technical High School Advisory Board. This past year, McConville also volunteered his time to assist with Special Olympics basketball and softball programs. A frequent visitor to the American Red Cross, he was recently recognized for making his 192nd donation of blood.

“Volunteering is a rewarding experience and I’m honored to be recognized,” said Mike McConville said upon accepting the award. “Throughout the year, Fallon offers many opportunities to give back. I’m proud to work for an organization that recognizes the importance of community. And I look forward to continuing to be involved.”
