Fallon Health offers alternative to nursing home care with new Webster site

Worcester, Mass., July 18, 2018
— Fallon Health, a nationally recognized health care services organization and a leading provider of health care to older adults, announced today the opening of a new Summit ElderCare® center in Webster. The center, which is located on 108 Thompson Road, offers all-inclusive, coordinated and patient-centered health care and related support services to individuals age 55 and older who need assistance and qualify for nursing home care but wish to remain living independently in their own homes.

The new 14,000-square-foot facility in Webster will consolidate Summit ElderCare operations currently spread between two buildings at the Overlook retirement community in nearby Charlton, and increases the program’s capacity to serve more people in the community by 50 percent. The move was necessitated by the growth of the popular Summit ElderCare program.

“Overlook has been a wonderful partner in helping us grow and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the community’s seniors and their families over the last 11 years,” said Richard Burke, Fallon’s President and CEO. “We are excited about this opportunity to help even more older adults with chronic health conditions and provide support for their caregivers at our new larger site.”

Summit ElderCare is Fallon Health’s Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), a Medicare and Medicaid program that helps people meet their health care goals to remain living in the community instead of in a nursing home or other care facility. Now in its 23rd year of offering PACE, Fallon is the largest PACE provider in New England and among the largest in the country, according to the National PACE Association. Fallon serves approximately 1,200 PACE participants with facilities located in Leominster, Lowell, Springfield, Webster, Worcester and western New York.

“We invite the community to visit our Summit ElderCare facility on Thompson Road,” said Annamaria Salisbury, Executive Director of Summit ElderCare. “We want seniors and their family caregivers to experience the unique and compassionate way our team of geriatric specialists helps older adults meet their health care needs so that they can remain living independently in the comfort of their own homes.”
