In the caregiver’s toolkit:

Medical professionals are resources

Doctors, nurses and therapists are valuable resources for caregivers.

Here are some tips to consider:

  • Make a list of questions to ask your loved one’s doctors. Ask them to explain anything you don't understand.
  • Go to doctor’s appointments with your loved one. As an extra pair of ears and eyes, you can help remember things later.
  •  Ask if you can record important conversations
  • Take notes. If someone uses a word you don't know, ask them to spell it and explain it.
