Fallon Health appoints David Brumley, M.D. as Senior Medical Director and Vice President of Medical Affairs

Worcester, Mass., February 9, 2017 — Fallon Health, a nationally recognized, not-for-profit health care services organization, is pleased to announce the recent hire of David Brumley, M.D., MBA as Senior Medical Director and Vice President of Medical Affairs.

In his role with Fallon, Dr. Brumley is responsible for overseeing utilization, disease and case management, leading clinical integration with providers and serving as medical director for Medicaid.

Dr. Brumley spent the previous six years as Senior Medical Director for Tufts Health Plan, where he collaborated with professionals from various departments to help reduce pharmacy and administrative costs, worked with providers to support alternative payment contracts, and secured annual funding for integrated behavioral health training for primary care practices.

Previously, Dr. Brumley was Senior Medical Director for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island, where he managed a clinical pharmacy staff that educated primary care practices on better prescribing and supported the sales department to increase membership. Prior to his time in Rhode Island, Dr. Brumley served as Medical Director of Health Management at Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts, where he was involved in implementing several programs to help improve quality and consistency of care for members.

Dr. Brumley earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the St. Louis University School of Medicine following the successful completion of his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Brumley completed his residency in family medicine also from the University of Missouri-Columbia as well as a master’s degree in business administration from New Hampshire College.

He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds medical licenses in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Dr. Brumley is an active member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and currently sits on the editorial board for Population Health Management Journal, which strives to educate about improving systems and policies that affect health care.

He currently resides in Duxbury, Massachusetts with his wife, Laura.
