Fallon Health’s Chief Communications Officer, Christine Cassidy, honored with 2017 Tribute to Women Katharine F. Erskine Award

Worcester, Mass., May 2, 2017 ― The YWCA of Central Mass has named Christine Cassidy, Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at Fallon Health, as a recipient of the 2017 Tribute to Women Katharine F. Erskine Award for Women in the category of business and law.

The prestigious award is given to inspiring and accomplished women each year to honor the memory of Katharine Forbes Erskine, who spent over 80 years of her life advocating for women and girls, and preserving the mission of the YWCA.

According to the YWCA, the award honors “the strength, courage and spirit of women and their extraordinary achievements.” It represents “the most dynamic and accomplished women in Central Massachusetts and the organizations who support them.”

In her role at Fallon Health, a non-profit serving the diverse health care needs of people of all ages, income levels and health statuses throughout the Commonwealth and beyond, Cassidy is responsible for the company’s communications and corporate relations functions. This includes corporate and marketing communications; advertising; brand management and promotion; public, community and government relations; digital communications; internal communications; strategy implementation; and enterprise governance.

Cassidy joined Fallon in 2002 and has held various communications-related roles, including Vice President of Corporate Communications. In her most recent position as Chief Communications Officer, Cassidy led Fallon’s 2014 rebrand campaign.

Prior to joining Fallon, Cassidy was the editor of The Lancaster Times and North County Family & Health. She also spent 15 years at the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in Boston, where, as a System Project Manager, she led a 16-member team through a multi-million dollar project to optimize the automatic adjudication of group health claims.

Cassidy is a member of the Becker College Board of Trustees, the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the Girls, Inc. Worcester Board of Directors. She also is a member of the United Way of Central Massachusetts’ Women’s Initiative Leadership Council. She serves on the Worcester Women’s Leadership Conference Committee including two years as chair. She also volunteers for numerous community events including the United Way’s Day of Caring and Working for Worcester.

Cassidy graduated summa cum laude from Becker College where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She is a member of Becker College’s Theta Nu chapter of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society.

In addition to the award Cassidy received, Erskine awards were given in the fields of Arts and Culture; Community, Social Service and Government; Education; and Health, Science and Technology.

The award was formally presented to Cassidy on May 2 at the YWCA’s annual Tribute to Women event held at Mechanics Hall.
