Fallon Community Health Plan appoints Elizabeth C. Malko, M.D. to Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer
Worcester, Mass., June 26, 2008― Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP), a nationally recognized health care services organization, announces the appointment of Elizabeth C. Malko, M.D., M. Eng., FAAFP, to Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. In this position, she will be responsible for ensuring the appropriateness, quality and cost-effectiveness of the health care services received by all FCHP members. Dr. Malko also will work to further strengthen the health plan’s relationships and collaborative efforts with health care providers throughout FCHP’s service area.
Dr. Malko comes to FCHP from WellPoint, Inc., where she was the East Regional Medical Director. She previously served as Medical Director for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire and Connecticut. She has provided extensive direction and leadership in medical and pharmaceutical management, quality of care initiatives and disease state management.
She received a doctorate in medicine from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and a master’s degree in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
A member of the American Academy of Physician Executives and the American Academy of Family Physicians, she has previously served as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
Dr. Malko resides in Vermont with her husband and two children.
