Fallon Community Health Plan appoints Christopher F. Egan to board of directors
Worcester, Mass., April 24, 2009―Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP) announces the appointment of former Ambassador Christopher F. Egan to the Fallon Community Health Plan board of directors. Egan was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as the United States Permanent Representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, France, and was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on October 26, 2007.
Egan is a past member of the Fallon Community Health Plan board of directors, and was chairman of the finance committee, where he oversaw investment strategy for the $230 million operating funds account.
He is president and a founding member of Carruth Capital, LLC, which is one of New England’s top 10 commercial real estate investment and development firms.
Egan is an active participant in the community and has served on many public and private boards across Massachusetts. He is a past board member of MassDevelopment, a past trustee of UMass Memorial Health Care, a past member of the Central Massachusetts Regional Competitiveness Council, former director of the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce, and the founder and board member of the Arc of Innovation/I-495 Initiative. He is also trustee of the Egan Family Foundation.
As an active member and public figure in his local community, Egan has been a television commentator for numerous networks, as well as an op-ed contributor and a documentarian. In 2004, he produced a documentary entitled, “Eclipsed by the Sun,” a critically-acclaimed look at Massachusetts political history.
Egan and his wife, Jean, founded and oversee, “Break the Cycle of Poverty,” a non-profit foundation dedicated to lifting families out of poverty through education. The foundation works to teach economically challenged individuals and families the skills needed to break free of poverty.
He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a master’s degree in public administration, with a concentration in leadership, from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Egan resides in Boston with his wife and three young children.
