Fallon Community Health Plan recognized as Boston Business Journal 2008 Champions in Health Care

FCHP one of two employers recognized

Worcester, Mass., August 28, 2008 — Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP), a nationally-recognized health care services organization, announced today that it has been recognized as a 2008 Champion in Health Care honoree by the Boston Business Journal. The health plan is one of only two Massachusetts companies to be recognized in the employer category.

FCHP was chosen for this recognition because of the example it sets in supporting the health and well-being of its employees. FCHP’s wellness programs focus on smoking cessation, stress reduction and nutrition/fitness, and all have seen high success rates, including a 120% increase in the number of employees who take advantage of the company’s on-site fitness room equipment.

The Boston Business Journal granted 14 Champion in Health Care awards this year, which are given to those in the Massachusetts health care industry for innovative and pioneering work in providing patient care, thoughtful administrative leadership, and beneficial outreach to the community.

This year’s honorees will be recognized at the Champions in Health Care awards breakfast to be held on September 26 in Boston.
